My thoughts:
I was attracted to this book by the beautiful cover, and the promise of a Christmas romance. Written in the first person from the perspective of the main character, Tia Armstrong, Snowflakes Over Holly Cove is an emotional story about losing and grieving for loved ones, family issues, healing, love and even a bit of crime!It didn't take me long to get into the story, and I really enjoyed reading it - probably because there were a number of threads to keep track of, and I do rather enjoy the challenge of trying to predict where the story is going.
Whilst most of the story is told in the springtime, it comes to a close over the Christmas holidays with friends and family coming together, and on Christmas Eve, the snow starting to fall. I was a tad disappointed as I'd been expecting an encapsulated Christmastime story with lots of snow and log fires to give me that warm Christmasy feeling.
The story, however, was well-written and very enjoyable, and I found Tia's journalistic assignment thought-provoking.
I wouldn't necessarily pigeonhole this book as a 'Christmas read', but would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a contemporary romance.
