I came across author Sudesna Ghosh whilst looking for independently published books to purchase for the #DecTheShelves 2019 event. I thought I'd try one of her short stories, and this lovely festive cover with the darling cat reeled me in.
The blurb:
It's Christmas Eve and cat mom Amanda has to make an emergency trip to the store. She's ready to spend the holiday with her beloved pet while everyone else is celebrating with family and friends.
Suddenly, it looks like the holiday gods have other plans for her.
A heartwarming short story to bring in the festive season.
Holiday Fiction
Contemporary Romance
My thoughts:
This is the story of a cat-loving, divorcee Amanda. Since her divorce, Amanda has almost become a recluse. She spends her time either at work or at home with her adorable cat Bella. At twenty-five, she may crave a happy and fulfilling relationship, but she is not willing to put herself out there to be hurt again.
That is until fate takes a hand and puts Matt, a handsome, caring, crazy-cat-man in her path on Christmas Eve.
I thought this story was absolutely delightful, well-written, and heart-warming. It is a very quick read, and introduces only 5 characters, two of whom are cats! Perfect for cat-lovers and romantics!
