I read Honeymoon for One during the #20BooksOfSummer20 Reading Challenge hosted by Cathy @746books.com.
The blurb:
Honeymoon for OneDumped by her fiancé six weeks before their Valentine's Day wedding, a jilted bride goes on her honeymoon alone.
But in visiting Verona, the City of Love, her life takes on a completely different direction, especially when she meets the mysterious and handsome Nico Cazale.
As a jilted bride, she was looking to heal and find peace.
She wasn't looking for a second chance for love.
She wasn't interested in romance.
Will her adventure give her the clarity she’s looking for or lead to more heartbreak?
Honeymoon For One is a second chance romance, feel-good inspirational romance featuring hot millionaire bachelor with a heart of gold, and a jilted bride.
Contemporary Romance
My thoughts:
I have had Honeymoon For One on my TBR list for sometime now. It was the blurb that drew me in.Ava was expecting to get married on Valentine's Day to Connor, her fiance. Connor, however, realising that he is not ready to settle down, tells Ava on New Year's Eve that he is calling the whole thing off.
Ava is devastated and cancels all the arrangements apart from the honeymoon. She decides to go on the honeymoon by herself. She flies to Verona where she mistakes Nico for the hotel driver.
Nico likes the idea that this beautiful woman has no idea who he is, and drives her to the hotel.
They are both aware of an attraction, but both have issues to overcome before they can consider the future.
Honeymoon For One is a quick and easy read. The characters are likeable and realistically drawn. There are the usual misunderstandings that look set to keep the couple apart, and a jealous ex-lover who is determined to snag Nico for herself. The ending leaves this reader excited for their future while wondering how their relationship could possibly work, given that they live and work in different countries.
