Thanks to the #20BooksOfSummer2025 reading challenge, I discovered this novella languishing away at the bottom of my TBR pile.
I remember being excited by the cover and the blurb when I was gifted a free digital copy...
and that's as far as I got until today.

The blurb:
Mrs Claus Saves ChristmasDive into the whimsical world of Candy Cane Hollow in this enchanting prequel to Mona Marple's beloved Christmas Cozy Mystery series!
Newlywed Aurora Claus—yes, that Mrs. Claus—is still adjusting to her life as the first outsider to marry into the Claus family. But when a seemingly innocent baking class turns deadly, Aurora and her quirky elf companion, Gilbert, find themselves accused of murder. With time running out and Christmas preparations in full swing, Aurora must embrace her role as a sleuth to clear her name, protect the Claus reputation, and save the magic of the season.
Brimming with festive charm, lovable characters, and a dash of mystery, Mrs. Claus Saves Christmas is the perfect holiday treat for fans of cozy mysteries and Christmas cheer. Can Aurora prove her innocence before Christmas Eve—or will the season of goodwill end in disaster? Grab your mug of hot cocoa and find out!

My thoughts:
I received a free copy of this story through Bookfunnel in December 2024 and was feeling full of seasonal joy when I downloaded a copy.
This was a nice enough, self-contained whodunnit set at Christmastime, which I understand is the prequel to Ms Marple's A Christmas Cozy Mystery series, but it didn't excite me as I'd expected. I wondered if perhaps it was written for a younger audience and that led me to award it three stars.
