Earlier this year I won a signed set of K L Crear's Teapots & Tequila shots series. I'd already read and enjoyed the first book,The Reinvention of Lottie Potts, so naturally I was over the moon to receive the full set.
In keeping with my habit of never knowlingly reading a series in the order in which it was written, I read book 3 thinking it was the next one in the series.

I took this book to read whilst away on holiday. I found it easy to get into and difficult to put down. It felt very different to The Reinvention of Lottie Potts even though Lottie and Lila turn up as supporting characters.
I was drawn to the character of Evelyn who appears reserved, sensible, staid and in need of a bit of fun in her life. However, I was a bit taken aback when her larger-than-life sister, Dora, arrives to stay for an undisclosed length of time, bringing chaos and confusion with her. The two ladies seem to have nothing in common beyond being blood related.
Dora shakes things up for Evelyn, which at times I thought was no bad thing. Once or twice I thought Dora overstepped, but it was done with a good heart and had the desired effect of showing Evelyn that life is for living.
I found Evelyn Weaver is a Later Life Diva to be a very heart-warming story, if a little sad in part. It gave me a few giggles too.
I would very much recommend this book to readers who enjoy women's fiction with a helping of saucy comedy - I learned a few things I can tell you!

You’re welcome. Once upon a time, she worked in banking, the Civil Service, and property management, or as she likes to call it, The Beige Trilogy. Then one day she found herself broke, baffled, and built entirely out of biscuit crumbs and unresolved trauma. So she did what any sensible woman would do, she wrote it all down and flogged it in paperback.
