My thoughts:
Written in the first person, we begin by finding William Forrester trapped in a dark hole filling with water. He examines how he ended up there and who might be responsible for wanting him dead.He is miraculously saved from death and ends up recovering in a care facility where he starts to plot his revenge. He realises his family must think him dead but he cannot contact them until his revenge is complete.
He has a trusted friend whom he involves in his machinations. They work together to take down the people responsible for trying to kill William, and and aim to reunite him with his family.
It is a finely told tale which leaves you wanting more. Fortunately, it's part of a trilogy and Part 2, Payback, is already on my wish list.
