I read an excerpt of Champagne for Breakfast at the end of A Brahminy Sunrise and was so completely hooked that I had to buy the full digital version there and then.
The problem is finding time to read all the books I have accumulated... but we live in hope.
As at 16th September when I bought this book, my TBR pile stood at 786 - an increase of only 9 titles since the beginning of this month.

I have become rather a fan of Maggie Christensen's mature romances. The writing is warm and inviting and her stories feel authentic and plausible. Her characters are well drawn and relatable, and her protagonists are immediately likeable. I find the settings beautifully described, tranquil and calming. The best part for me is that they end happily leaving me feeling satisfied and wanting more.
Champagne for Breakfast is the story of Rosa Taylor who, having discovered that her affair with her married boss is going nowhere, ends their relationship. She then tries to put some distance between them by accepting a secondment in another department.
A handsome stranger has arrived in town and Rosa seems to see him everywhere she goes. Harry Kennedy has relocated from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast. He is going through an acrimonious divorce. Although not ready for another relationship, he keeps seeing Rosa and finding her a very attractive woman, is intrigued by her. When he starts a new contract, his path again leads him to Rosa when he learns that she will be liaising with him on his project.
This is not just a later-in-life romance, as there is something amiss at Rosa's workplace. As I read the sub plot, my mind jumped ahead wondering at all the implications and possible outcomes for Rosa as the truth of what had been going on was revealed.
This is another story by Maggie Christensen that I have devoured and highly recommend to readers who enjoy a mature romance.
